Shown above is Pastor Jim Garey, with his wife Sue, on the occasion of Pastor Jim's 35th ordination anniversary.
James R. Garey ("Pastor Jim") has been pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church since 1999. He previously served parishes in Sault Ste. Marie and Massey, Ontario, and in northeastern Ohio.
Pastor Jim has an undergraduate degree in sociology from the Ohio State University. His Master of Divinity was earned at Hamma School of Theology.
He and his wife Sue have two grown children, Jennifer in Ottawa, Ontario, and Justin in Sun Peaks, British Columbia.
He is a member of the Eastern Synod Missions Committee. He served three terms as Dean of the London Conference.He is Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Forest City-London and Lieutenant Governor of his Kiwanis division. He is an area captain for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
For relaxation Pastor Jim enjoys skiing, swimming, and hiking. He is a railway enthusiast.
His favourite Bible verse is John 10:10: "I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly."
